Rationale

This project aims to integrate social studies and arts, transforming our gymnasium into a museum. This is the opportunity for students to connect historical events in an engaging way.

Learning Objective

By the end of this project students should be able to explain and understand the impact of historical figures in society.

Project Time

This project will take students at least 3 weeks to complete. 

Task

Week 1 Chose a person to research and present for example Jean Lafifte, Ryan Bridges, Huey P King, just a list of a few founders from Louisiana.

Week 2 Begin to create your pieces of artwork.

Week 3 Finally set present your living museum piece. 

Presentation

The living museum will be presented in the school gymnasium. Students will have their own assigned stations to display their artwork and/or historical person. The presentation should identify who, what, when, where, and why it mattered.

Technology 

Students are encouraged to use technology to research their historical figure, as well as art pieces. Costume or Prop (visual component for example printed images, symbols, hat, sign, flag, book, etc. 

Sharing the Event 

We will use various of tools to present this event to the families and communities.
